Double bassist Jonny Hayward was electrifying in Dark with Excessive Bright - a virtuoso concerto for contrabass and strings by Missy Mazzoli - at the Nonesuch summer lunchtime concert at St Clement Danes church. Jonny has played with Nonesuch for 3 years while a student at the Royal Academy of Music. We were delighted - and proud - to learn that he has recently been accepted by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as an Academist.

Also on the programme were works by John Milton Snr, Franz Xaver Richter, and Handel. The audience gave generously in the retiring collection to help Nonesuch with its work in London schools.
